This is a known thing, a kind of common sense, but I dare to write an article about it.

There may be no response to a call at a distant DF (often the upper DF), but there may be an immediate response to a call at a DF in the immediate vicinity of that station.

WSJT-X and JTDX only decode within the range shown on the wide graph. If the display area of the wide graph is 500-2200 Hz, only stations within that range will be decoded, e.g., if a station is at 2500 Hz, it will not be decoded.

Some stations may have intentionally narrowed the wide graph. If there is no response at all when you call on a distant DF, try calling on a nearby DF, especially a lower DF, and you may get a response.

I also don't think there is much merit in intentionally narrowing the wide graph. I always display 0-3000Hz on the wide graph and consider improving dynamic range and SNR with a filter such as PBT if necessary.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This case was initially received up to 0-3000 without even narrowing it down to RIG's filter, then the RIG's PBT filter narrowed the bandwidth to 800-2500, then the bandwidth was changed to 1300-3000.
The JTDX wide graph is maintained at 0-3000, and even outside of RIG's filter, the "strong signal" stations are decoded.
You can improve the decoding rate of the "weak signals" in the band by squeezing the band with the RIG's filter and expelling the "strong signals"

Before start TXing

Before TXing, we check to make sure that the frequency is not being used by another station, that there is no QRM in SSB, CW, FM mode, etc., right? But with FT8, too many people launch TX without doing that check. The DF that I have called CQ, somebody suddenly start sending out CQ  or suddenly start calling other stations on the same DF opposite period. What are they thinking? They don't do the most basic thing, "Confirmation before TX", don't they?  I don't think they are thinking about anything. Without looking at the wide graph carefully, they send a CQ with a not cheked DF, or start calling other stations. Let me say it clearly, I think it's really rude.

If 100% of people use SPLIT FREQ when calling other stations, there is no problem. But in reality, there are a number of people who will call you ON FREQ.

Let's look at the wide graph first. Then check carefully to see if the frequency you are trying to transmit on is being used.

7MHz Band pass filter

Please upload your QSO data to the LoTW2020年08月23日 13時35分18秒

You don't have to be an ARRL member to use LoTW, and the only time you will incur a fee is when you apply for an award using LoTW.
If you upload your logs in ADIF format to QRZ.com, eQSL, HRDLOG, Clublog, etc., I would like to encourage you to upload your logs to LoTW as well.
Awards submitted through LoTW are very popular. Even if you aren't interested in applying these awards yourself, I am sure that there are many people who would like to use their QSO data with you to apply these awards.

If you upload your logs as ADIF to a number of sites, please upload them to LoTW as well. It will save them a lot of time and effort.

Is there a reasonable reason to exclude LoTW from the site to be uploaded?

We now know who is using LoTW. And when people know that you are LoTW user, they are more motivated to QSO because it's easier to confirm their QSOs.
I believe it would result in more QSOs of your own, which would increase your enjoyment of amateur radio.
Of course, if you haven't digitized your logs, it's none of your business.

We often edit the information in the log after a QSO - entering QSL information, entering grid locator information, etc.
In most cases, QSL information is obtained from QRZ.com.
If the station is displayed on QRZ.com and there is no QLS information on Biography, you have no choice but to go to Detail, but you can essentially display it on Biography as well.

On the QRZ.com own station information edit page, there are two entry points, but I often see people entering only one point. I would love to make sure that you enter both places.

Furthermore, we should not forget to enter the grid locator information.
Most of the grid locator information is obtained digitally at the time of the QSO, but in some cases, such as when the QSO station was not a CQ, the grid locator information may be logged without being available. In this case, you can still enter the information from QRZ.com.
Don't forget to add the information to wsjt-x.adi. If you don't edit wjst-x.adi, it may show as New Grid when the station senses the same band. If you are using Autoseq6 or Autiseq7 in JTDX, you may have a problem that the station is going to be called even though it is set not to call the station you've already QSO'd with in the past. It's a bit of a hassle, but it can't be helped.
