The congestion on all bands is getting pretty bad these days.
This is because there are many stations crowded into a small area of 3 kHz. There was a proposal for a sub-frequency from the WSJT-X team for a while, but it was dropped.

However, some of the latest rigs can receive stations wider than 3 kHz. If we can widen the reception filter of the rigs so that they can receive stations above 3000 Hz, for example, it may help alleviate some of the congestion.

The IC-7300, for example, can extend its reception range to 3.6 kHz. And the WSJT-X/JTDX wide graph. As you know, WSJT-X/JTDX can only decode within the range of the displayed wide graph. For example, if you intentionally set the upper limit of the wide graph to 2500 Hz, and you call the station at 2800 Hz, it will not be decoded, and you will not be able to make a QSO forever. In other words, if you set the wide graph to the upper limit of your rig's receive filter, it will decode within that range, and you will be able to make a QSO.

If you set the filter of the IC-7300 to 0-3600Hz and display the wide graph up to 3600Hz, the usable frequency range will be 1.2 times larger.Of course, expanding the frequency range by 300Hz at the bottom and 300Hz at the top is another idea. One thing to keep in mind, of course, is that you must use the CAT control and set the Split Operation setting to "Rig" or "Fake it".

I'm sure there are many people who have rigs that can be used to increase the receive frequency range. What do you think to experiment with it in your daily operation?

JH6AUV さん、もっと激混みになったり周知が進まないと3000以上はなかなか出てこないし拾ってくれないでしょうね。 とにかく周知を大きな団体が率先して行ってもらいたいですね。
