その昔6m SSBで北米が大オープンしたときのことは今でも記憶に新しいです。隙間を見つけて「CQ States side」とCQを出し、スタンバイした途端ものすごいパイル・・・
1st JAという声と後日のSASE。アンテナはスクエアローという局ともQSOしました。そんな日が再び来る事を期待しています。
大オープンならSSB一択。最大で6QSO/minできます。CWもFT8よりは早いですね。FT4という手段もありますが、SSBで運用して録音を後から楽しむとか。
過去の北米大オープンやカリブ大オープンのときの録音をしたカセットテープ、引っ越しで何処かに紛れてしまいました。残念。

When a DX pedition is operated with an unusual prefix, the JTDX entity display may show "where?" or an entity different from the original.
In such cases, the only way to get the correct entity display is to edit the cty.dat file or use a new cty.dat file that contains the correct entity display.
First, download the BIG.cty file.

If you unzip the downloaded zip file, you should find a file called cty.dat in it.
Place the file in the JTDX log directory.

Now let's look at the contents of cty.dat.
Search for TX7L.
TX7L is listed in Marquesas Islands:.
So what about W8S?
W8S is listed in Swains Island.
If you didn't get it right, edit the cty.dat in the log directory yourself.
Or rename cty.dat to a different name, then place the new cty.dat you downloaded in the log directory.
Then start JTDX.

DX peditionで普段と違うプリフィックスで運用されると、JTDXのエンティティー表示が「where?」だったり本来と違うエンティティーで表示されてしまうことがあります。
そんな時に正しい表記を指せる方法は cty.dat の編集か、正しく記載されている新しい cty.dat を使うことです。
まず、Big.CTYファイルをダウンロードします。
このページに Big CTY [download]のセクションがあるので、そこをクリックしてzipファイルをダウンロードします。
ダウンロードしたzipファイルを解凍すると、その中にcty.datというファイルがあるはずです。
そのファイルをJTDXのログディレクトリに置いてください。
C:\Users\[各人の設定]\AppData\Local\JTDX
そしてJTDXを起動する。これだけです。
では、cty.datの中身を見てみましょう。
TX7Lを検索します。
TX7LはMarquesas Islands:にリストされています。
では、W8Sは？
W8SはSwains Islandにリストされていますね。
もしうまくいかなかったら、ログディレクトリのcty.datを自分で編集してください。
または、cty.datを別の名前にリネームし、ダウンロードした新しいcty.datをlogディレクトリに置きます。
それからJTDXを起動してください。
これしか方法はありません。

ようやく今年から使用周波数についての記載がありますが、「推奨」より拘束力の強い表現にしていただきたかったです。
しかも周波数の書き方にも誤りがあってさらに残念・・・
